Nixism – $5 128MB OpenVZ VPS

Tags: , , Date/Time: July 18, 2009 @ 9:36 am

Nixism Via this WHT offer. Nixism — a 3 year old web hosting company (pretty good in this end of market) — is offering WHT visitors an OpenVZ VPS plan for only $5/month.

  • 128MB guaranteed/256MB burstable memory
  • 10GB storage
  • 100GB/month data transfer
  • 2 IP addresses
  • CentOS/Debian/Gentoo/Fedora Core/Ubuntu/OpenSUSE

Servers are in Los Angeles CA. You have to use the order link in the WHT offer as it is not available on their VPS offering page. Looks like 128MB is the new 64MB now as most recent offerings at our target range are all having at least 128MB, which is a lot more liveable than 64MB even in 64bit mode.

Signed up; getting pretty slow traffic speeds. Not recommended.

Some notes on commenting on LowEndBox:

  • Do not use LowEndBox for support issues. Go to your hosting provider and issue a ticket there. Coming here saying "my VPS is down, what do I do?!" will only have your comments removed.
  • Akismet is used for spam detection. Quoting webhostingtalk.com URL seems to get binned consistently here, but I do peek into the spam box frequently to publish those comments.
