Does 123Systems support VPN (PPTP/Tun/Tap)? What about allow IRC? Any ipv6 IP’s included? Comparing to buyvm.net’s $15/yr, any thoughts as to how the $18.95/yr plan would compare?

    • SwordfishBE:

      More stable then BuyVM!
And for IPv6, ask for netadmin and tun/tap to be enabled, and you can use tb-tun (http://code.google.com/p/tb-tun/), to enable ipv6 via tunneling. Hurricane PoP has a PoP in Dallas.

  3. We will enable the software components a VPN requires (Tun/Nat/Etc), IRC is allowed. IPV6 is not included/offered. Other users can comment on your last question.

You can either choose these addons when checking out and/or get them in the addons section of the cart at anytime after your service is active (Must have an active server & be logged in to the client area to view the addons section in the cart.)

    • Hi,

I found your service based on your name here. I resent you the welcome email (It was already setup), It’s possible the email landed in your Junk box (Most VPS account welcome emails do, But the other don’t oddly enough).

Alternatively you can go to https://www.123systems.net/billing/clientarea.php?action=emails and it will list all of the emails you have received from our company.

The only thing I’m not happy is my VPSes get rebooted every few days :(

All my 3 VPS have an uptime of 2 days 21-22 hours which means the reboot is intentional?

    December 26, 2010 @ 2:51 pm | Reply
    • This was because of the vzctl 3.0.25 error, We had to downgrade vzctl and reboot VZ in order to fix the issue, It was not really a choice because it had to be done either way.

  9. Just a note to say I’ve been with 123Systems for about three months. In my experience they deliver a very solid product in terms of performance and uptime, and provide excellent tech support.

I picked up one of the Linux-256-Yearly specials a few days ago and so far it’s been quite good. Less powerful than another VPS I have with them, but that one costs three or four times as much :)

    Thanks for this offer Andrew!

      @sleddog,

what node are you on? i’m on their dallas node(with limestone networks). i experienced little different here. it’s a bit shaky and got rebooted frequently. ssh connection is slow most of the time.

btw, this is not complain, i rarely complain about vps performance, not even submitting a ticket about it. i’m just thinking of asking to move me to another node.

      • I think submitting a ticket would be a good idea otherwise there is nothing we can do to help you, If you do not bring anything to our attention there is little to no chance of resolving any issues you are having.

    • It has nothing to do with overselling/overloading it was RAID related issues which we have planned a maintenance to resolve, If you actually opened a ticket this would have been explained to you.

hey would you take care of Semoweb’s node?
Semo’s been pounded with bad reviews because 123systems never took care of the node after taking money.
take care of your reseller first.

    January 2, 2011 @ 9:33 am | Reply
    • Semoweb is a customer just like everyone else, They receive no special treatment. We do not specialize in resellers, Nor is it a niche we offer. They are put on the same node with regular customers (Our Customers). So if that node is having issues then we will resolve it just like we are supposed to do. If you have any complaints direct them towards semoweb and they will direct them to us.

I have 3 VPS with them. my first one is on node rtepx6.dltx.123systems.net
Ath the beginning, it worked well, but about over one recent week, it works slowly, (sometimes fast, major of times slow), with very high load of CPU (shared CPU of node) although I config to use just about 50MB of RAM, and there is no many process running.
2 others vps with them are okay, seems superb. All of 3 VPS have the same specs.

I am in the node VZ31DLTX as Solus says. It worked fine at start, then I got 2 downs. Now is ok, almost 1 day up.
The performance is fine I think.

I had a VPS for 4 days with them. Lots of downtime, very poor performance and rude support staff. Now they’re ignoring my refund requests. I used to be a big fan of 123systems, but now I can only advise others to stay away.

  24. I use to love 123systems but lately it has been a nightmare and for first time like Gary reports a very rude support. You can read the thread I started at webhostingtalk.com ( http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?p=7254085#post7254085 )

Andrew promised to look into it but nothing yet, while my website has been down for 4 days now ;-(

It’s all because of their migration from Orlando to Dallas (and we had no choice on this) now my site sits with “403 Forbidden” error.

Support staffer ( Hector.R) was very rude and gave me a run around for couple of days and tried to blame anything he could including “Kloxo misplaced my files” and of course they don’t support Kloxo .

Also he tells me “…we take no responsibility for any data loss during migrations…” but in email they sent clearly states “…We will handle all of the migrations and you will have to do nothing except update your DNS after the new IP changes…” so very unprofessional.

I’m still waiting from Andrew (or anyone else) to reply as he promised in webhostingtalk.com thread to assign someone else to my problem ( http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?p=7254085#post7254085 )

    January 31, 2011 @ 4:13 am | Reply
    • If you do not like the support we are providing for software we simply do not support then by all means attempt to fix this yourself, We clearly stated over and over kloxo is simply software we do not support. We are going out of our way to assist you, Bad mouthing our company over every place you can find is surely not a way to get us to help you with something we do not support. You have went through every avenue you can find to trash talk our company and frankly I’m personally sick of it.

      January 31, 2011 @ 4:19 am | Reply
  25. First of all I loved support you offered at the beginning and I posted very positive remarks in several places on the web. But in this last incident your support guy Hector got very rude and wasted my time, offered to look in my Kloxo settings, not reply for a whole day and than replied “I’m not sure if anything is wrong or not, I have no experience what so ever with the kloxo control panel.”????

Why than even offer to look if have no experience????? other than to “quiet” me down for a day.

The only way I got your attention was when I posted on webhostingtalk.

Like I said, I understand you don’t support Kloxo but when you email me saying to request (inevitable) migration and state “…We will handle all of the migrations and you will have to do nothing except update your DNS after the new IP changes…” and then mu VM is all messed up and website not working, I expect you to stand behind the promise as any professional company would do.

Again, I praised your support in the past but now it sucks, I’m not going to lie about it. I can post the whole support ticket here for readers to see and make a judgment.

All I ask is my website be like it was before “forced” migration and if you can’t I will understand, we’re only human but tell me, “sorry something went wrong” or whatever and don’t waste my time even more. Make it right and I will praise your company again.

  26. I finally got very professional Gary.S – Technical Support Adviser on my support ticket last night and looks like he will make thing right.
He said they can’t locate the problem with Kloxo or Server itself but he did make some things that should make it up for all troubles. We’ll see.
