LEA (LowEndAdmin) is the original founder of LowEndBox and the visionary who gave rise to an entire movement around minimalist, efficient hosting. In 2008, LEA launched LowEndBox with a simple but powerful idea: that it was possible to run meaningful applications, web servers, VPNs, mail servers, and more – on small, low-cost virtual machines with minimal resources.
At a time when most infrastructure discussions were dominated by high-end servers and enterprise platforms, LEA championed the opposite approach: lightweight Linux distros, self-managed servers, open source software, and thoughtful optimization. This philosophy gave birth to the term “Low End Box”, which would come to define a new genre of hosting tailored to developers, tinkerers, and budget-conscious users around the world.
Through LowEndBox and its companion forum, LowEndTalk, LEA built the foundation for what would become one of the most active and enduring communities in the hosting world, prioritizing knowledge-sharing, transparency, and accessibility.
After several years of nurturing the site and community, LEA stepped away from active involvement, passing the torch to a new generation of admins, contributors, and moderators. Today, LEA remains a respected figure in the LowEnd ecosystem, credited with launching a platform and philosophy that continues to influence thousands of infrastructure providers and users globally.
LowEndBox’s legacy, and its thriving community, is a direct result of LEA’s original vision.

Well, yes, I am happy. Is stable and all.
But after the ens experiences, I can’t be sure of NOBODY. So, I am really tempted with this offer, but I am afraid at the same time hehe, yearly paying :S
Mine is the 128MB one, and just to update some info:
DD around 50MB/s (it was around 90 MB/s sometimes). Consistent IO latency.
And about the network, I have like 5-8mbits always, which is good n_n
Yomero hi,

hi i just bought VPS2, and also sent you a custom vps, but my order was refunded and was mark as fraud?
i already sent a ticket, but still has no reply.. thanks
I have had this VPS for ~2 months now and am really pleased. I received a response to a ticket at 3am, about 15 mins after making it. There was a hardware issue that was addressed within 2 hours.
Really great service, considering the 1.99/month price point! I’d definitely upgrade if my needs ever required it.
Thank you KS,
We keep trying to provide better service, and it is nice to hear that the customers are satisfied.
-Mike
I am still happy, but this month I had several outages, hardware related it seems. One of the downtimes lasted 6 hours :(
Yes unfortunately we have had some bad luck with hardware this past month. There would be scheduled maintenance for two of our nodes in the coming weeks to address these. We apologize for all the downtime you have experienced and are working hard to provide reliable service for all our customers.

Dear VPSCheap,

Directadmin
1GB
1IP
Please let me know the price. Thank you :)
bought one $3.99 vps from them. 256 MB,15G Disk space,10Mbit/s UnMetered
it’s funny. they just refuse me to be their client. I have bought some vps from some other vps provider but dont get refund.
Signed up last night for their $1.99/month VPS, and it was all set up within an hour or so — very impressive response time in my experience, even though their site says it may take up to 24 hours. Everything is working great so far. :)
Just following up to say that, two months later, my experiences have still been very positive with ChicagoVPS. There’s been barely any downtime, and the hosting has been excellent overall.
Load test is satisfactory at 63.8 MB/s
dd if=/dev/zero of=test bs=16k count=64k conv=fdatasync;rm test -f; ./ioping -c 10 /

I was an old customer for VPSCheap but I cancelled all my subscriptions because of several outages for a single month.
I hope they already fix their hardware issues.
I have had nothng but issues with this VPS. First, theit servers were down for DAYS do to a DOS attache, then they chouldn’t get the nodes right, the support is few and far between, and they now cant login to my VPS.
Needless to say, you get what yuo pay for . Some dude at home running a small bx isn’t gonna cut it for me.!!
really.., could you please provide a ticket number, nothing that you just wrote here makes any sense
we have not had a single outage due to ddos attack for the last 7 months, we have never had an issues where we couldn’t login to custmer’s vps server, our average support response time is 15 minutes.
Out of Stock
Can you tell me more about uptime and live support????
I’ve submitted about three requests and I am satisfied.
My current uptime is 17 days. I can’t remember if the last reboot was for maintenance or I did it manually.
