HudsonValleyHost – $5.70 384MB OpenVZ VPS

Tags: , , Date/Time: September 8, 2010 @ 1:25 am

HudsonValleyHost Via this WHT offer. HudsonValleyHost is currently giving 5% off life time discount with promo code summervps5, because they are “celebrating the warm weather with a summer sale”. Not sure which planet Hudson Valley is, but last time I checked it’s September and it would be either Fall (Northern Hemisphere) or Spring (Southern). Anyway, for $5.70/month after the discount you will get

  • 384MB guaranteed/1024MB burstable memory
  • 10GB storage
  • 5Mbps unmetered bandwidth
  • OpenVZ/SolusVM

If you think the plan looks familiar (like many other providers in Kansas City), they are probably reselling Virpus’ products. Hudson Valley Host itself seems to be long established. Domain registered back in 2004 (although with private WHOIS + adjacent name servers). Also seem to be the same company all the way through. At least their about page in 2004 worded similar to their existing one.

But still the question with those VPS reseller. Why not go with the source when you can get $5/month everyday-price and a better package? The same also applies to BurstNet resellers. It just does not make sense to me.

Some notes on commenting on LowEndBox:

  • Do not use LowEndBox for support issues. Go to your hosting provider and issue a ticket there. Coming here saying "my VPS is down, what do I do?!" will only have your comments removed.
