Well. Here’s another VPSLink post, and this is exclusive to LowEndBox! Cameron and Dan from VPSLink came to me to offer the following discount code to the LowEndBox readers — 66% off for the first 90 days for Link-1 or Link-2 from VPSLink.
That means, if my calculation is correct:
| Plans | Link-1 | Link-2 |
|---|
| Space | 2.5GB | 5GB |
| Monthly Data | 100GB | 150GB |
| Memory | 64MB | 128MB |
| Cost/3 Months | $7.95 | $13.39 |
Here is the coupon code:
I think it’s a good way to test out their service and the cost after 3 months will revert back to their regular price. It applies to either Xen or OpenVZ. I think the offer expires in January 2010. It only applies to Link-1 and Link-2 as I think the readers here won’t be interested in other plans anyway.
Disclaimer: This blog (LowEndBox.com) is hosted on a VPSLink OpenVZ VPS that I had since June 2006.

LEA (LowEndAdmin) is the original founder of LowEndBox and the visionary who gave rise to an entire movement around minimalist, efficient hosting. In 2008, LEA launched LowEndBox with a simple but powerful idea: that it was possible to run meaningful applications, web servers, VPNs, mail servers, and more – on small, low-cost virtual machines with minimal resources.
At a time when most infrastructure discussions were dominated by high-end servers and enterprise platforms, LEA championed the opposite approach: lightweight Linux distros, self-managed servers, open source software, and thoughtful optimization. This philosophy gave birth to the term “Low End Box”, which would come to define a new genre of hosting tailored to developers, tinkerers, and budget-conscious users around the world.
Through LowEndBox and its companion forum, LowEndTalk, LEA built the foundation for what would become one of the most active and enduring communities in the hosting world, prioritizing knowledge-sharing, transparency, and accessibility.
After several years of nurturing the site and community, LEA stepped away from active involvement, passing the torch to a new generation of admins, contributors, and moderators. Today, LEA remains a respected figure in the LowEnd ecosystem, credited with launching a platform and philosophy that continues to influence thousands of infrastructure providers and users globally.
LowEndBox’s legacy, and its thriving community, is a direct result of LEA’s original vision.
I’ve been wanting to play with a Xen based VPS; nice way to try it out for a bit on the cheap!
Thanks!
I find link-1 space is 2G,not 2.5G
use Xen vps seems is not enough to os system?
This could be a great deal for a small shell for an irc client or such; if I’m correct they do allow irc clients on their servers
@Chuck — under their FAQ page:
If they allow IRC server, I think most likely they allow IRC clients.
Very tempting!
I once got (and still have) a 50% Link1 on a 48-months prepaid. Now I am keeping myself to get a 50% Link2 for 48-months once (read *if*) they get that promotion back again on their B-day.
They are a solid VPS host. I had them for a few months and never had any issues.
the website can’t open ( http://vpslink.com/ ), what happen?
@li — Yes VPSLink has a power outage right now. Their websites seem to be down. LowEndBox has also been down for around 40 minutes…
I’ve had a Link 3(Upgraded from Link 2 that used this coupon).
They are f******* great!
BTW, the coupon STILL WORKS!
is this available now? where must i type the coupon?
After VPSLink got sold, I do not think it is available anymore. I probably would not recommend VPSLink at this moment — my other VPS with them (a Link4 with 512MB memory) now only can access 1 CPU core rather than 8 as it was before.
yes vpslink pretty much S.U.C.K.S after got sold.
