Colo-Serv - CAD$5.50 128MB OpenVZ VPS in Canada

Colo-Serv Communications Alexandre from Colo-Serv Communications emailed me their special offers on their OpenVZ VPS plans. Yes their “Premium” range is quite expensive — $19.95 CAD for 128MB OpenVZ VPS. Their promo offer is more inline with LowEndBox’s pricing — CAD$5.50/month (~USD$5.66) using this sign up link.

  • 128MB guaranteed/256MB burstable memory
  • 15GB storage
  • 300GB/month data transfer
  • OpenVZ

Servers in Montreal at CANIX. Colo-Serv has been in hosting business since 2006, although their domain was registered in February 2008. Incorporated in Canada, and owns all their equipments (although their Premium/Protected VPS range do look like reselling GloboTech’s?) Not much info can be found on WHT and their account there was disabled. A little bit expensive, although there does not appear to be any good Canadian offer at the moment (all the Nixcom ones are out of stock).

  1. Thank you for publishing our package. Golobotech provide to us their links and IPs adresses only.
For Nixcom, for sure it’s a good provider, we host one of their servers since many years.

      • @Martin: So you are able to rent the servers from them and offer the VPS at 1/4 of what they charge? LOL, that start to make me wonder how profitable this business is haha :)

        • @96mb, rent a server and have our equipment is not the same exploitation fee by month. :)

  2. Why your WHT account got disabled?

  3. A long story between an other company that use our trademark
and we had to engage pursuit and WHT disable the account
to avoid mismatch between them and us.

Is IRC permitted? the ToS page does not mention IRC at all.

    May 31, 2011 @ 2:24 pm | Reply
    • IRC is not allowed on our Web VPS, you can see it in our vps package on the website.
IRC is only allowed on the protected network but it’s not this promotion.

    • I;m sitting here looking for the AUP since you mentioned it. The ToS page mentions it “…the Colo-Serv Communications Acceptable Use Policy (AUP)…” but I’ve yet to find it.

But yes, the VPS page has red check marks all the way across for IRC on the Premium servers. The protected vps’es allow it though.

Thanks for your comment drmike, we change our website recently and we forgot to correct this line, i will ask our webmaster to make the correction. He took the old page of our old website for the TOS.

I’ve been in the hosting industry for 5 years now so I can spot the scams pretty easily.
