BurstNET - $5.95 512MB OpenVZ VPS in Miami with $1 First Month

Burst.NET Special promotion from BurstNET‘s CEO/President for the LowEndBox visitors. Looks like they are in heavy discount mode to push their Miami offerings, but there is actually no recurring discount this time. Instead of 25% off recurring like last time, they are giving away first month free, when you use coupon code FLVPS1L (for Linux) or FLVPS1S (for Windows). Update: Burst.net have disabled the coupon code for their normal Miami OpenVZ product, and now you have to pay $1 setup fee if you want the first month off. See my comment here. Here is the sales page, although the links on that pages don’t actually lead to the actual ordering page. So, here is the direct sign up link with promo code pre-filled. Still the same ol’ $5.95/month but with 1st month free.

  • 512MB memory
  • 20GB storage
  • 1000GB/month data transfer
  • IPv4 + IPv6
  • OpenVZ/vePortal

Servers in Miami FL. Test IPv4: 184.22.119.122, Test IPv6: 2607:F878:4:2F:A::1. From previous posts, you might wish to have your identifications ready. They do run pretty strict screening against fraud so prepare to face some false positives.

My ticket was spun around your site for a while. Then I get told I have to wait till next billing month for my service to be re-instated.

I don’t know if I’d personally specify this as “support” cause it didn’t solve my issue.

You waited more than 10 days to pay and lost your VPS.
You were not told to wait until next month, just that you had to order again, as your VPS had already been deleted for non-payment.

      • We tell it like it is, and don’t put up with nonsense typical of many budget hosting clientele.
If you don’t like it, then we may not be the host for you.
There is plenty of clientele out there that appreciate our no-nonsense approach to doing business, and our frankness, that we have been successful with our operations for 20+ years now.
Obviously we are doing something right, regardless of the poor opinion of the minority.
In our industry we cannot satisfy every client, we can only try, and to believe otherwise would be naive.

    • That is a matter of opinion only….by a minute fraction of our client base.
We have 10,000+ active happy clientele, utilizing tens of thousands of our services, hosting millions and millions of websites overall on our network.
You don’t grow that large without providing decent service, regardless of the opinion of the small percentage of clientele that were not happy with our service.
If you think you can operate a budget hosting company of our size, without such mistakes, you are mistaken…but more power to you, go right ahead and do it, and prove us wrong.

Unfortunately we are unable to please every client we signup, due to the nature of the budget hosting service business.
Fortunately, however, we are able to please the vast majority of our client base, and hence our continued tremendous growth and business success.

        • All I did was point out how you missed the comment which you still didn’t follow up on.

Really looks like you’re just paranoid of anyone complaining about poor customer service and overlooking valid concerns.

Instead of attacking someone pointing out an issue, how about showing that you understand what customer service is and follow up on what was pointed out.

As to the “grudge”, I just dislike companies who don’t provide decent customer service. I’m the one who gets to clean up their mess when those clients come over to me and I send many hours doing so.

So how about proving me wrong and following up with the issue stated?

As to the hours this is the Internet. There is no such thing as a weekend, If you’re not staffed on the weekend, that’s a problem.

Let’s keep the perswonal insults out, ok?

          Sorry, but no.
Many providers have certain departments that are only available certain hours of the day and/or closed on weekends. Our technical support is available 24/7/365, and that is what matters.
We are not asking for your opinion on how to operate our business. We have operated as such for 20+ years, and it works for us, and obviously for our client base, considering our tremendous growth.

Then don’t send in another offer to LEA. If you don’t want people pointing out that your company has problems and you lack in manners, don’t open up yourself to review.

      • Okay. I see things have somehow changed.

When I first posted this, the coupon code is applicable to Miami OpenVZ/vePortal VPS which leaves exactly $0 first payment. Now you have disabled the coupon code (which rendered my direct link unusable), and makes it only applicable to a special “Free Month” package with $1 setup fee.

Such a shame. I’m adjusting the post now.

My lack of reading comprehension or as an excuse — vacation-based dialup leading to infinite unfinished and restored chrome tabs — lead me to believe I’d score the 25% off recurring.

Alas, I’m not going to get my panties in a knot over 10 bucks, but I would like to make sure that my ridiculous path to sign-up resulted in some kind of affiliate compensation especially if the link is busticated.

Thanks again for the wonderful site. As someone that’s used Linux almost exclusively for over ten years now, I’m remarkably clueless when it comes to VPS in general, let alone the providers, and it’s been helpful.

No worries though, if you cancel service period to new service period starting, a refund would be issued for that upcoming service period if already paid.

  21. Hi,
This company is in business. I strongly recommend reading their scary Terms before buying something from there.

I currently have a “Terminated” account with them, as they say, and they are still charging me for this Terminated service, because I didn’t filled the “cancellation function”. They are not able to provide any direct link to that “cancellation function”.

24 hours wait for a ticket is normal at burst.net (I got 36 hours wait for a reply to a ticket saying I forgot my password and that the “forgot password” form return Internal Server Error)

I can send you a screenshot of my “Client Area” with my “Terminated service” in “red” being due for paiement (Next due date of a Terminated service). I agree, I made a mistake, a paid 13 days late my invoice, which I though it would give me 17 days of service for that month, but in fact the terms are something like that: “We will charge you the entire month upfront, and if you don’t pay after 5 days, the service is cancelled. If you want your service back, you pay 1 month for the 5 days you got + one another month to get the service + 9,95 penalty (vps)”. In short, if you are late you pay 2 month + 10$ to get your VPS back for one month. As I said, after service cancellation because you didnt pay, they continue to charge you for that terminated VPS lifelong.

Trying to find that cancellation form!!!

I faxed to cancel, ‘hope it will work!!
