Via this WHT offer. RAM Host usually has their VPS completely sold out and it’s good that they now have some stock for ordering — although their Kansas City DC is sold out again, and only 4 left in Atlanta for their $2.99/month Nano VPS. You get

They use their custom control panel which gives you status of the host nodes. RAM Host has built pretty good reputation since it first got listed here almost a year ago. They have continued to grow and will be offering Phoenix AZ as their west location soon.

Via this WHT offer. Looks like RAM Host has updated their VPS hosting plans again. You can now get their Micro VPS pacakge for $4.99/month although you have to prepay for 3 months. You get

15GB storage
350GB/month data transfer
OpenVZ with custom panel

They are running Linux kernel 2.6.26 so I guess probably Debian 5 based host nodes. Servers are in Kansas City, and you can actually see how each of their servers perform on their status page — talking about transparency from hosting providers! They have also been getting quite a few very good reviews when you google them. Certainly look like a well run company.

Thanks to Alex for spotting this new plan from RAM Host. The price is — $2.99/month! You do have to pay quarterly though, but it still seems to be pretty cheap for a low end box. The specification is quite basic as well:

64MB guaranteed/96MB burstable memory
10GB storage
50GB/month data transfer
OpenVZ + In house customised panel

Again, the servers are in Kansas City, MO. They have also opened the server status page up to the public, so you can get to see what their servers have been up to. So far I can see 5 servers hosting VPS users, and when you drill down to the “Details” page, you’ll see them as 4GB RAM dual core machines (i.e. very lowend in today’s VPS physical node standard). I guess that also means they do not need to put in too many clients on a box.

It’s nice to see that they have a demo of their in-house built control panel (and explicitly stated that they are not using HyperVM). RAMCP is very functional (start/stop/restart VM, reload OS, download backups, basic stats) although not pretty (who cares at $5.99/month!) The servers are in Kanas City MO with Level 3, Cogent, AFS and KCIX connectivity. Their website is powered by RAM-CMS written by the owner — yes a developer-run provider which is always a good sign.
