Besides dodgy “Gateway Fee” charged at checkout, domain was only registered 2 weeks ago, running both NS on the same box (website hosted at HostGator), no SSL on the WHMCS and website full of non-working social media links. On the plan page it says “Unmetered” but in ToS under “VPS Network Utilization Limits”, Budget S02 is limited to 2TB/month, which is still quite a lot for a 5 dollar VPS. “Jacob Dominic” (registrant of the domain) also has his WHT account under “Temporarily Suspended”. LowEndBox.com is still running on a Xen VPS in Softlayer Dallas. Earlier last week the host node had some issue and got a reboot. I/O tanked after the reboot (as all the VPS were running their bootstrapping scripts), so Roel decided to double the memory for this VPS. Now it’s running Debian 5 x86 with 160MB Xen. I’ve also done some optimization to speed it up a bit (& still have plenty of memory left).

Can’t find much info about SecuredSpeed online as there’s little posts about them on WHT. One of their guys, Nick R., is 16 though so you might be dealing with ~~a team of New York high schoolers~~ Update: See Lucas’ comment here. Also SecuredSpeed’s Twitter account boasts a remarkable 572 followers with just 17 following. However looking at the profile pictures of those followers (might need to scroll down a bit) — they don’t look like your typical VPS users somehow.

Yet another dirt cheap VPS offer from a new provider today. Erez from VPSCheap.info sent me some info about their cheap VPS plans, which starts at $1.50/month for their “Lite” plan. Alternatively you can pay $15/year, or $25/year for two. Here is the spec:
