Servers in either Jacksonville FL (VolumeDrive, test IP: 204.124.180.10) or Phoenix AZ (PhoenixNAP, test IP: 50.2.0.34) can be selected on the sign up form. Besides dodgy “Gateway Fee” charged at checkout, domain was only registered 2 weeks ago, running both NS on the same box (website hosted at HostGator), no SSL on the WHMCS and website full of non-working social media links. On the plan page it says “Unmetered” but in ToS under “VPS Network Utilization Limits”, Budget S02 is limited to 2TB/month, which is still quite a lot for a 5 dollar VPS. “Jacob Dominic” (registrant of the domain) also has his WHT account under “Temporarily Suspended”. You can decide by looking at his past offer at WHT, but personally I won’t touch it.

Sorry guys. Been sick (and still is) so the posting would be slow — those “please feature us!” emails just seemed to pile up in my inbox (well, not literally). Roel from QuickWeb sent me this almost a week ago. Their LowEndBox plans can be found on this dedicated page. It’s the same “Budget VZ” line that they used to have before — except now they are running their own BGP network at PhoenixNAP. Pricing start at $23.88/year for “Budget VZ 1″:

128MB memory/256MB vswap

6GB storage

100GB/month data transfer on 10Mbps

1x vCPU core

OpenVZ/SolusVM

If you open a ticket and mention that you are referred from LowEndBox, they’ll also give you a free upgrade to 200GB/month data on 100Mbps. Payment with PayPal or credit card. QuickWeb is one of more popular provider here with good reputation and quick support. And the disclaimer — LowEndBox.com is currently hosted on a VPS provided by QuickWeb.co.nz.

LowEndBox.com is still running on a Xen VPS in Softlayer Dallas. Earlier last week the host node had some issue and got a reboot. I/O tanked after the reboot (as all the VPS were running their bootstrapping scripts), so Roel decided to double the memory for this VPS. Now it’s running Debian 5 x86 with 160MB Xen. I’ve also done some optimization to speed it up a bit (& still have plenty of memory left).

Payment with PayPal. Servers with PhoenixNAP in Phoenix AZ. It was only launched in July according to its blog entry, although it also claimed that “It all started back in 2009 with two web developers”. Simple website that’s nicely done. Both NS on the same server. Both IRC servers and clients are prohibited.

Can’t find much info about SecuredSpeed online as there’s little posts about them on WHT. However looking at the profile pictures of those followers (might need to scroll down a bit) — they don’t look like your typical VPS users somehow.

Servers with Phoenix Internet in Phoenix AZ. Since the last offer, they have now added a new ToS/AUP page. Interestingly they permits hosting of IRC servers but prohibits IRC clients and bots.

Erez from VPSCheap.info sent me some info about their cheap VPS plans, which starts at $1.50/month for their “Lite” plan. Alternatively you can pay $15/year, or $25/year for two. Here is the spec:

128MB guaranteed/256MB burstable memory

10GB storage

200GB/month data transfer

OpenVZ/SolusVM

It’s on old’ish Xeon X3220 boxes. Only payment method is PayPal. Two locations to choose from — Scranton PA with BurstNET, or Phoenix AZ with Secured Server. Erez also ran CheapDomainNamesDot.com which was featured here in July, but VPSCheap.info has much better website :) Domain registered in early July 2011, although Erez would have other Internet/hosting-related business for longer. Google “erezrb” for more info.

There are a few other low end plans at VPSCheap.info. For example “Maximum” which has 1024MB/2048MB memory, 40GB storage and 300GB/month data transfer for $5.90/month.

Payment available in either PayPal or Alipay (for Chinese customers I guess). Servers in Phoenix AZ with PhoenixNAP (test IP: 174.138.175.114). Quite a few fails on my standard test. No SSL on the ordering forms. ToS and AUP are invalid links on their home page. There appears to be a contact number on their Contact page, but I am not sure how valid it is.

Domain was registered 2 weeks ago by someone in Guang Dong, China, and it appears to be the English version of his NBVPS.com VPS business (website in Chinese).

Victor from FiberVolt emailed me earlier this week that they are setting up some new nodes at PhoenixNAP, and they have some promotions to help filling up those nodes. I think the most interesting one would be their 128 Volt annual plan, where coupon code newnodes25128 would get you 25% off recurring discount. That drops the price to $18.75/year for the following VPS:

128MB guaranteed/256MB burstable memory

15GB storage

100GB/month data transfer

OpenVZ/SolusVM

Here is the direct sign up link. Only 50 is available. For other plans, here are other discount codes:

Coupon code newnodesquarterly gives you 1 month free on quarterly payment, i.e. 33% off recurring

Coupon code newnodes15 gives you 15% off recurring discount

Purchase any monthly plans to get triple diskspace/bandwidth. Open support ticket to request. I guess it does not apply to annual plan (128 Volt from above)

PayPal is the only allowed payment method. FiberVolt has been around since June 2010, founded by Alex in San Diego and Adam from Ireland. While their past offers have their servers in San Diego, this offer would apply to their new nodes in Phoenix AZ with PhoenixNAP.

Payment method available in either PayPal or AlertPay. No IRC, no torrent according to their ToS, which also stated out their throttling rules. Hosting with Ubiquity Servers in either Atlanta GA (test IP: 108.62.174.82) or Phoenix AZ (test IP: 108.62.115.114). Again that’s different from the last time (Los Angeles) and the one before (Scranton) — I wonder why all the data center moves. They have been around since November 2010, and so far had Ryan/Sam Wilkinson + Jon posting here (so not a 1 man team). WHOIS info is still masked, and both NS are still running on the same server (since we first featured them last year).
