They are offering customized VPS on their home page where you can dial up/down various parameters. When everything is tuned to the lowest, it would be $3.96/month after the discount code is supplied.

From its About Us page, they were founded in February 2011. Jay is from Vancouver Canada, and the servers are with Telecom Colo in Philadelphia (test IP: 69.55.12.2). Both NS are on the same IP address (FAIL). Jay also ran/worked for AccurateHub after it was sold by Andrew in Australia, although it has been sold again to ComfortHost.

Via this WHT offer. OdishaHosting, a New Jersey based hosting business but having data centers in both Philadelphia PA and Hyderabad India, have some cheap and low end VPS plans, where the virtualization technology is provided by Parallels’ Virtuozzo (which is rare at this price point as it’s a costly commercial product). For $6.95/month, you get:

50GB/month data transfer
CentOS

Servers are using high end Xeon 5420/5520 so they are probably squeezing a lot of VEs onto those beefy boxes. Their data center information on be found on this page with an IP address to do traceroute and download speed test.

Personally I am not a big fan of Virtuozzo. In fact I much prefer OpenVZ unless SLM is used on the Virtuozzo (which apparently is not the case here).

Edit: offer is for US DC rather than India DC.

Found UK-based GretzkyHosting and their budget VPS plans through “random clicking”. Their lowest OpenVZ/HyperVM plan is only $6.95/month with the following spec:

Their servers are with SaidHost in Philadelphia. They are also reselling SaidHost’s budget dedicated servers starting from $21.95 for a 1Ghz/256MB Pentium III.
