First we have Gelo, the “COO” of First Line Hosting Services, emailed me about their new VPS services. They claim to use “8-core CPUs, SAS disks, and 1Gbps ports “, and are available in 3 different locations — Chicago USA, London UK and Amsterdam NL. You get to pick the location when you sign up. Their “Sand” turns up to be £3.30/month (USD$5.42) when you click through its sign up link, although on their site it says 3 pound. Anyway, you get

ToS goes to 404 on their website. Registrant “Jon-Paul” is based in UK, which I guess is the “CEO”. Traded as “First Line Network Ltd” (same title on their Facebook page), although I doubt they are actually a registered limited company. No review on WHT but some info can be found on all the Habbo forum (google “jjgalaxy12″ for example) — not a good sign to me.

Price wise $6/month is a tad expensive for 128MB memory OpenVZ box, so the selling point here would be that 1Gbps unmetered port. Servers with EvoSwitch in the Netherlands (test IP: 31.31.32.164). According to Kelvin, “Warez allowed but no child porn” so you know what kind of neighbours you will get with that 1Gbps link. Domain registered 3 weeks ago, both NS on the same IP address and info on WHOIS is probably bogus, as HostHatch is said to be UK based. You can however find it on Companies House with Company No. 07600722. No review can be found on WHT, and only one related offer there. It contains a few reviews, and first one sourced from Wjunction — where their PK-located user was actually banned.

Chicago order link and Netherlands order link. BreezeHost was started in March 2009, and sold to InoxHost mid-last year. Seems to be running both NS on the same box (both IP reports the same hostname).

One provider that I have previously missed, and is reminded by emails from Tom their CEO, is Prefiber.nl. It is a Dutch hosting provider that has its VPS services in The Netherlands according to its data facility page. There are actually quite a few good offers floating on WHT that are still working. I am actually not too sure whether they are indeed using OpenVZ, and which control panel they are deploying. On the offer page posted on November 25^th it stated “256MB memory and 512MB swap”, although their blog page posted on the 24^th says that the same link is on their OpenVZ platform. Same with their more recent offer — says swap memory in the post, but selling the same OpenVZ package. Someone here might have actually purchased one before — okay to verify the virtualization + control panel?

They do seem to be a reasonably sized company, if they are indeed owning all these servers. They also run Denkers-ICT (dedicated server company) and Gamersway (game-server company) according to Tom’s LinkedIn profile.

30mb.co.uk specialises in free cPanel shared hosting and free OpenVZ VPS — however after more than 480 free VPS they are now closing down the sign ups, according to an email from Danny. Instead, they are now offering cheap VPS for $3/month with the following spec:

Servers will be in Rotterdam, Netherlands, and this package can be ordered with this link. 30mb was funded by Danny from UK back in early 2008, and their website is hosted on a cPanel box which also hosts both name servers. There are much to say about this “provider”, Jason S (whose previous “business” also got featured on LowEndBox a few times), and any possible conflict with SimplexWebs (who was featured here a few days ago but I had to pull the post).
