Its website is quite nicely done featuring cute looking Welsh Corgi, however quite a few links are either wrong or missing. Corgi Tech Limited are a registered company in the United Kingdom with Company No 7719404 (incorporated July 2011), and it’s address is clearly stated out in the website footer. However domain was somehow masked.

I think the company is too new to have a solid review. VMWare, however, makes it an interesting offer as one of previous VMWare provider, eNetSouth Cloud, just went to the dead pool for this month.

BudgetVM is part of Enzu brand, who sells SAN-backed Xen VPS. Nick seems to be a veteran in VPS hosting by reading some of his older posts on WHT (and how many companies he worked/advertised for). He also founded Virpus with Kenneth according to Virpus’ about page. At least he knows what he is doing :)

With storage, do note that it presents two option on the ordering page — “Primary” and “Secondary” storage. Primary is either a 8GB SATA drive, or a 8GB SSD drive (costs extra). Secondary is a 40GB SATA drive. So at the end, even though the company is called “SSD Nodes”, you actually do not get any SSD storage when you are paying the low end box price. Payment is PayPal only. Servers with SoftLayer in Dallas TX. Contact is in Orange CA, but the company (SSD Nodes LLC) is registered in Delaware. Domain has been registered since May this year.

One positive review here. Probably not the best offer at the moment, especially regarding to the amount of memory and monthly data. However you do get SoftLayer service and connectivity.

They support either PayPal or Google Checkout as payment method. I can’t seem to be able to find a test IP address to ping on their website, but did notice that their FAQ page returns a 404. Pretty standard shared-hosting centric ToS. Both NS point to the same IP address at Wholesale Internet. Domain has been registered by Curtis in Indiana since April 2010, although their introductory Xen offer was only posted in May this year.

And Curtis should probably have his username changed as he is probably no longer associated with Vazapi (started by ServerMinds but sold to Netrouting in July).

Curtis is also launching a new low-end VPS brand called root@vps. Hopefully some more interesting pricing there.

Pretty standard ToS but they also forbid any IRC connectivity, Minecraft servers and porn sites. LoomHosts is Singapore based, with domain registered in early July and having both NS on the same server. As far as I can see, Boltersdriveer (who posted LoomHosts offers on LET) is still the same young Singaporean teenage guy who ran BoltHub.net to the ground in March. I would probably take the risk if it’s an outstanding offer, which unfortunately, it is not. $5/month can get you quite a few much bigger packages in Texas :)

The fact that it still does not include burstable memory on OpenVZ plan means 256MB would be the maximum you can allocate (and most definitely won’t be able to run Minecraft :) They are now listing their staffs now. With 2x “Minecraft Technician” it might be the kind of hosting providers that appeal to some of you… Just not me.

n00b providers Monday! Here are some new low end providers that I’ve spotted over the week, but be warned — some of them might be the next SoftLayer (hmm, what’s the probability of this?), but many might fail and fall into the dead pool in the not so distant future. So evaluate, and be careful what you are about to purchase.

Here is the WHT offer. ThriftyVPS claimed to be “a new company of hard working individuals looking to break the hosting mold”. They have both OpenVZ and Xen VPS hosting plans, and both of them have packages starting below $7/month. “Xen powered vps 1″ is $6.25/month that comes with

SemoWeb has been in business since 2008, has some good reviews from last couple of posts, and Dustin has provided some great support. Performance “varies” but I probably won’t expect much at this price range.
