XenVZ Thanks to cryptw for posting this in the forums. XenVZ is offering this special on WHT for £2.80/month with a coupon code:

  • 64MB memory
  • 5GB storage
  • 20GB/month data transfer
  • Xen or OpenVZ + HyperVM

It even comes with a Xen image that allows you to run OpenVZ inside your Xen VPS. Running multiple VE inside 64MB Xen would be a challenge though. Servers are in UK.

    Thanks for the advert. Just wanting to say with regards to the 64mb challenge, someone actually asked us last night what the bare minimum amount of RAM required to run OpenVZ inside our Xen VPS was.

    I created one of these £2.80 VPS and successfully booted a CentOS 5.2 OpenVZ VE inside it, both responding well to SSH! 64MB host nodes work, though I doubt anything else will run :)

Some notes on commenting on LowEndBox:

  • Do not use LowEndBox for support issues. Go to your hosting provider and issue a ticket there. Coming here saying "my VPS is down, what do I do?!" will only have your comments removed.
  • Akismet is used for spam detection. Quoting webhostingtalk.com URL seems to get binned consistently here, but I do peek into the spam box frequently to publish those comments.
  • Use <pre>...</pre> to quote the output from your terminal/console, or consider using a pastebin service.
