Update Nov 2009: “SupaVPS.com” is not resolving and could have been dead.
Discovered this provider today while browsing around. SupaVPS, a UK-based provider that has its domain registered for less than a month (although claiming to have several years of experience in their about page), is having some cheap < b>$4/month virtual servers.
- 64MB guaranteed/96MB burstable memory
- 2GB storage
- 20GB/month data transfer
- OpenVZ
Servers seem to be hosted with Ubiquity in Chicago. Not sure whom the owner of the business is, but a bit of Google search led me to AshServ.com (via this cached page at WebHostingStuff), and AshServ is an India-based operation.
If you search through AshS’s old posts on WHT you will see that he used to be Centicero. I forget what happened
to Centicero (they had 3$ and 6$ VPSs)… Can anyone enlighten me?
Hmm. Interesting. Centicero is still alive and is still selling 64MB VPS for $6/month.
My mistake, I thought centicero disappeared but I guess he just stopped advertising it.
Site has been inaccessible for at least 48hrs, are these guys gone?
Neither of ns1 and ns2.supavps.com are resolving. Epic fail. Domain was only registered back in October and it has already disappeared. Since I’ve not seen it trying to advertise on WHT — so maybe they haven’t launched yet?
