Atelra – $6.36 Windows VPS with 256MB

Tags: , , Date/Time: March 3, 2010 @ 12:13 am

Atelra Via this WHT offer. Here we finally have a low end VPS offer that is not of our regular boring Xen, OpenVZ or even FreeBSD offers. Some people prefer graphical user interface that you use this cursor positioning device called “mouse” to operate, and Atelra is providing low end solutions for all you Windows lovers! With current 20% off promotion, you can get a low end Windows VPS for $3.96/month. However I think to run a GUI environment you might need a bit more memory, so the next step up at $6.36/month it will probably good enough for the job:

  • 256MB memory
  • 5GB storage + 2GB backup
  • 250GB/month data transfer
  • Windows 2003 Server

Atelra.com has been registered for almost 5 years however I am not sure how recent have they ventured into web hosting, espeicially when it was actually founded in 2008 according to this profile on eLance. Website is hosted with 1and1 so I presume the VPS will be in the same location in Lenexa KS.

Doesn’t a windows license cost more than that alone?

We use a Volume Windows License that allows us to distribute low end Windows VPS for those Costs.

While our Domain and Website are hosted by 1and1 our infrastructure is located at our facilities in Englewood, CO and Denver, CO.

If you have any concerns about a Windows VPS I welcome you to request a trial as ui has posted a link to one of our trials above.

I decided for 128Mb Windows plan, paid ~14hrs ago. No reply from Atelra, only an e-mail that something’s wrong with payment (PayPal displays that everything’s OK).

Much more than 48 hours and I still have no access to my VPS and control panel. No one responds for e-mails (i sent the same message for all contact addresses from their website). In my opinion Atelra is just dead – if it’s just a hardware/software/whatever failure they’ll give us some information…

Looking back at the dates on this. We had a critical redundant failure in our network infrastructure taking down one of our facilities. We overnighted equipment to fix this issue. The downtime lasted about 48 hours.

Do to this downtime we have increased our cores systems to triple redundancy to prevent another systematic fault.

We credited all of our clients accounts for the downtime.

We appreciated everyones patience in this matter and assure you that we have taken steps to prevent this from ever occurring again.

The whole system is offline. WHM links redirect to this 404 page

and the main website says something else

“Under construction. This domain has just been registered for one of our customers!
Domain registration and webhosting at best prices.”

    I think its dead
